Colonel Jennifer J. Colvin

Colonel Jennifer J. Colvin is a native of Phoenix, AZ. She first enlisted in the Army as a Radio Operator Maintainer (31 R) in 1995, and was commissioned into the Signal Corps through the Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, GA in 1999. COL Colvin’s first duty station as a Second Lieutenant was Camp Colburn, Korea and her assignments included the Battalion S4 and Platoon Leader with C Company, 304th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade.

Later, COL Colvin completed the Signal Officers Advanced Course in 2002 at Fort Gordon, Georgia and then moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where she served as the Brigade Assistant S3, and the Brigade Plans Officer for HHC, 35th Signal Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps. In 2004, COL Colvin moved to Fort Sam Houston, where she served as a Training, Counseling, and Advising Officer for A Company, 187th Student Detachment. Upon completion of this mission she returned to Fort Gordon, Georgia to attend the Battalion/Brigade S6 Officer Course prior to her departure to Mannheim, Germany. In 2007, her next assignment was the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, HHC 44th Signal Battalion, 7th Signal Brigade, and six months later took Command of A Company, 44th Signal Battalion. During her tenure as the Commander of A Company, she deployed her troops to Baghdad, Iraq in support of OIF 07-09. Upon her return, she served as the Battalion Executive Officer for 39th Signal Battalion, 2nd Signal Brigade, at Chievres Air Base, Belgium. In 2011, selected as the Secretary Joint Staff for United States Forces Japan COL Colvin moved to Yokota Air Force Base, Tokyo, Japan. She returned stateside to Colorado Springs, Colorado to serve in the NORAD and USNORTHCOM J6 at Peterson Air Force Base in 2014 and served as the Deputy Director for Program Management, and later moved into the position of the Director of Staff for the J6 Directorate. In 2017, she moved up the road to Schriever Air Base, Colorado to be the J6, Director of Communications for the Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense, USSTRATCOM. As a Lieutenant Colonel, she served as Commander of the 56th Signal Battalion at Fort Sam Houston. After battalion command, as part of the US Army War College program COL Colvin participated in the Secretary of Defense Executive Fellowship Program and worked with Arizona Public Services for a year to identify opportunities in innovation in the corporate environment and share those with the senior leaders in the Department of Defense. Her current assignment is the Chief of Staff of the United States Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, Fort Huachuca, AZ.

COL Colvin’s military education includes the Signal Officer Basic Course, Signal Captains Career Course, the U.S. Command and General Staff College, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and the U.S. Army War College. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and currently has a Master’s of Business Administration from American Military University.

COL Colvin’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Iraqi Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals.
