Colonel Edward F. Buck Jr

Colonel Ed Buck assumed his current position as the Deputy Commander for Operations in August 2016.

Colonel Ed Buck is a native Californian and was commissioned as an Armor Officer 1992 at California State University, Chico.

Colonel Buck’s assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, A Company, 2-72 Tank Battalion, 2d Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; Platoon Leader A Company, then Assistant S3, 501st Signal Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY; Battalion Signal Officer, 2d Battalion, 502d Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell Kentucky; Commander, B Company, 32d Signal Battalion, Darmstadt, Germany; Brigade Signal Officer, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy; Brigade Signal Officer, then Chief of Operations for 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Ft Campbell, KY; Battalion Executive officer, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Communication Officer, Green Team, National Airborne Operations Center, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska; Commander, 442d Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, Georgia; Human Resource Manager, Colonels Management, Office of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, Washington, DC; Commander, 2d Signal Brigade, Wiesbaden, Germany.

Colonel Buck is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, Dismounted Scout Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff Officer Course, and the Eisenhower School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from California State University, Chico, a Master’s of Business Administration from Bellevue University, and a Master’s in National Strategy and Strategic Resourcing from the Eisenhower School, National Defense University.
